§ 26. Council induction into office, meetings.

  • Newly elected councilmen shall be inducted into office on the first Tuesday next following their election, after which the council shall meet regularly at such times as may be prescribed by its rules or upon call of two (2) or more members. All meetings of the council shall be open to the public. The council shall fix its rules of procedure, and shall act in all matters upon a majority vote of those present, a majority of the council being necessary for a quorum, but less than a quorum may adjourn to a specified time. A minimum of three (3) affirmative votes of the council shall be required on all matters. A councilmember shall forfeit the right to serve at such time as that member ceases to be a legal resident of Miami Shores Village.
